Additional Information

Bring your children.
At Mountain Equestrian Trails we love children. There are several children around to play with, and we offer activities children love, such as horseback riding, swimming, hiking, and exploring, or simply enjoying a game of soccer or baseball. Children under age 6 are free, and ages 6-16 are half price for meals. (With the exception of horseback riding: $61 for half day, $83 for full day). Babysitting is available with advance notice.

What should I bring?
Remember to bring your flashlight and extra batteries. There is no electricity in the rooms, but we can charge batteries in the Cantina. Bring your prescription medications, insect repellent, sunscreen, light cotton clothing, long pants, hiking or riding boots, tennis shoes, bathing suit, camera and lots of film.

What if I cannot complete my tour?
If weather or other circumstance prevents the completion of a portion of the tour we will do our best to offer a substitute tour. We are not responsible for unusual circumstances or weather patterns. We have the right to refuse to offer tours to Tikal if circumstances make it unsafe to travel there. We will either offer a substitute tour or horseback riding.

NOTE: no portion of tour is refundable if not used. All tours allow time for early morning bird watching and nature walks.

Do I need shots to come to Belize?
Please follow your doctor's recommendations. Many doctors recommend malaria prevention. No immunizations are required, although we do recommend that you be vaccinated against tetanus.

What else should I know?
To maximize your holiday enjoyment, we suggest that you be in reasonably good physical condition, regardless of your age. We also recommend that you do some stable riding prior to the tour, spending at least 1 1/2 hours in the saddle at a time. Please sign our liability waiver provided at the resort before riding.

All visitors to Belize must present a valid passport before entering the country.  Please note that driver’s licenses and birth certificates are not approved travel documents and cannot be used to enter the country.  Passports must be valid up until time of departure.

Departure fees of US $35 per person are payable only in US currency at the Philip Goldson International Airport at the time of departure. Please note that these fees are not included in the tour packages, however, they are sometimes included in the cost of your airfare.  Please see the Belize Tourist Board website for current information on visas and departure fees. http://www.travelbelize.org/immigration.html
